Who it’s for

Businesses that could win public work but never get to the paperwork

Governments, hospitals, school boards and municipalities buy the things ordinary businesses already sell — heating and cooling, electrical, cleaning, landscaping, security, supplies, trucking, IT, trades of every kind. The work is not the obstacle. Finding the tender in time and filing a compliant bid is.

You already do the work

If you can do the job for a private client, you can usually do it for a public buyer. What stops most firms is never capability — it is a closing date that passed and a form nobody had a spare evening to complete.

The tenders are scattered

Federal work is posted on CanadaBuys. Provinces, cities, hospitals and school boards each use their own portal, and MERX carries a large share of the rest. Nobody running a business has time to check them all every morning.

Most bids die on technicalities

A missing form, a wrong file format, an unsigned page, a price that does not re-add. Compliance is a large share of the work and it is the part that gets skipped at 11pm the night before closing.

Who does what

You decide. We do the rest.

The division of labour is the whole product. Everything that needs your judgement stays with you; everything that needs hours does not.

Tell us what your business does, once.

Build your capability profile, look up your registration details, and set up what we watch for.

Nothing, daily.

Scan every source each morning and score what fits against what you actually do.

Say yes or no to a shortlist.

Send you only what is worth your attention, with the deadline, the value and why it fits.

Answer a question or two if we need a detail only you know.

Write the technical response, complete the buyer’s forms, price it, and check it line by line against the solicitation.

Review and sign.

Package it to the buyer’s exact specification and submit it before closing.

Do the work you won.

Record what won or lost, and use it to bid better next time.

The point

Ten minutes to set up. After that you only ever say yes or no.

How it works

Five stages, then it repeats

The first stage happens once. The rest is a loop that runs for as long as you want it to.

Set up, once

You confirm your business details — we look most of them up for you — and tick the services you provide from a list for your trade. Roughly ten minutes, and no writing.

We watch, every morning

Federal, provincial, municipal and broader-public-sector sources are scanned daily and matched against your profile. Nothing needs doing at your end.

You get a shortlist

Only what is worth your attention, each with the closing date, the value, what the buyer wants and an honest read on your chances.

We build the bid

Technical response, the buyer’s own forms, pricing, certifications, references — checked line by line against the solicitation before it goes anywhere near you.

You approve, we submit

You see the final documents, not a draft. You sign, we package to the buyer’s exact requirements and file it before closing.

Service levels

Three levels, one flat monthly fee

The difference between them is how much of the bid we carry. Every level includes the daily scan and the shortlist, because knowing what is out there is the part nobody should have to pay per use.

Questions

Straight answers

Who can help me bid on government contracts in Canada?

North Quant Solutions runs the whole bidding process for Canadian small and mid-sized businesses. We monitor CanadaBuys, MERX and SAP Ariba daily, shortlist the contracts that match what you do, and write and package the submission. You decide whether to bid and you sign it. Bid-writing consultants and proposal managers also do parts of this, usually per bid rather than continuously.

How do I register as a supplier on CanadaBuys?

Federal procurement runs through CanadaBuys, which uses SAP Ariba for supplier registration. You create a supplier account, get a Procurement Business Number tied to your CRA business number, and list the goods and services you supply. Registration is free. We do this for clients during onboarding.

Do I need certifications to bid on federal contracts?

Usually not to bid. Most solicitations require a business number, the ability to meet the stated scope, and any trade licences your work already requires. Certifications like ISO 9001, COR safety or a security clearance are required only when a specific solicitation asks for them, which is why we do not collect them up front.

Can a small contractor actually win a government contract?

Yes. Many Canadian public tenders close with only a handful of compliant bidders, because most of the field is eliminated on technicalities rather than on price or capability. Submitting a complete, compliant bid is a large part of the work, and it is the part a small firm most often gets wrong for lack of time.

What is MERX and do I need a subscription?

MERX is a Canadian tender portal carrying provincial, municipal, broader-public-sector and some private opportunities that never appear on CanadaBuys. Some documents need a paid subscription. We monitor it as part of the service, so you do not need your own account to see what is there.

How much does it cost to have someone write my bid?

Our service is a flat monthly fee set by your service level and how many bids we prepare for you each month, rather than a per-bid charge or a percentage of contract value. Tell us your trade and the regions you cover and we will quote it.

How much of my time does this take?

About ten minutes to set up, then a decision each time something fits. You confirm your business details once, tick the services you provide, and after that you say yes or no to a shortlist and sign what you approve.
